I am often asked how I found Reiki and Integrative Nutrition Health, and why I have made it my life’s work. As for many others, it arrived out of need and urgency.

Over ten years ago, my 16 year old daughter began to have serious health symptoms and after three months of extensive medical testing, we received a diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis (UC), a serious auto-immune disease in which the body attacks the colon. We quickly learned our road ahead would be difficult as we were told there is no cure.

With little guidance on how to support her diet, I began to spend every moment I could researching this disease online only to find overwhelmingly conflicting information. I realized that I would have to learn everything I possibly could about holistic nutrition and found the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and I immediately enrolled. My life, health, and the health of my family would forever be changed. With this integrative education, I immediately implemented major dietary and lifestyle changes for my family and within just months, she entered remission.

Our family began to once again thrive until a routine medical procedure revealed that I had a concerning cyst/mass. I was sent to an Oncology specialist and told I would need surgery with an unknown outcome. As I neared the date of the surgery, my anxiety became overwhelming. After a search for pre-surgery anxiety support, I found Reiki Energy Healing and immediately scheduled a session with a local Reiki practitioner. I walked out of the session lighter, with no anxiety, and years of suppressed emotions released.

To say that this one session changed my life, would be an understatement.

The outcome from my surgery was positive and life went on. Then, when my Mom entered Palliative Care due to advanced Congestive Heart Failure, I knew Reiki could help her too. I immediately trained in Reiki in a local hospital’s Reiki program, began administering Reiki to her and was completely amazed at how beneficial it was. When she had pain, Reiki would take it away. When she stopped sleeping well, Reiki would allow her to sleep soundly. When she lost her appetite, Reiki restored it. I know that Reiki prevented my Mom from experiencing the end of life suffering that she most definitely would have, had it not been for its healing benefits.

After experiencing first-hand, the incredible life-transforming changes and healing my family experienced, I felt a calling to help empower others to heal their own bodies through Reiki, nutrition and other integrative life-style practices. For nearly 10 years, I have witnessed profound healing and transformations in my clients and students.
